World Conference 2024
IACEE is pleased to announce the 19th World Conference on Continuing Engineering Education to be held on May 21-24, 2024, in Comillas and Santander, Spain. Our host is the IFE Europe, a collaborative venture of the Tecnologico de Monterrey Institute for the Future of Education (IFE) and the University of Cantabria. Comillas is a beautiful town near Satander, Spain, surrounded by extraordinary landscapes and contains majestic architecture. It is famously known as the "Town of the Bishops", with deep rooted history in the Middle Ages.
The theme of the conference is Continuing Engineering Education for a Sustainable Future. Continuing Education is going through a renaissance period. The rise of alternative credentials, industry-higher ed partnerships, adoption of technology and AI are the fast paced trends in continuing education.
Alternative credentials focus on skills based learning that are valuable personnel assets in the workplace. The synergy of higher ed as knowledge hubs of research and application provide the skills for the future of work. The ability of technology to collect data and for AI to be leveraged for reinforcement learning and critical order thinking. All in all, these trends intersect to create a supported, equitable and inclusive virtual learning environment.
