Internationalizing the 2024 European Perspective: a SEFI-IACEE Collaborative Event

Are you someone involved in or an expert in Continuing Engineering Education (CEE)? Are you interested in what the European Engineering Education community is discussing around CEE, and how this relates to what you are doing? Do you feel that working together around CEE will help you, and bring better solutions to shared challenges?

If so, then this webinar on October 24 is for you.

September saw the 2024 SEFI Annual Conference where a number of papers and activities around Continuing Engineering Education (CEE) and Lifelong Learning (LLL) were presented and discussed. Recognizing that the conference highlighted emergent practices, raised challenges and opportunities for research, and continued a search for solutions, the Special Interest Group (SIG) on CEE and LLL invites you to this post-conference event to share and engage with your international peers.

The aim of the event is two-fold:

  • To facilitate a wider sharing of the CEE/LLL topics raised with SEFI members and institutions, as well as with our sister engineering education organisations internationally,
  • And to connect CEE experts and practitioners to take forward these challenges and ultimately to find transferable solutions.

This 1-hour webinar will be facilitated by Dr Chris Smith (Co-Chair of SEFI CEE/LLL SIG) and colleagues from the CEE/LLL SIG, and will be structured as:

  • Welcome
  • Overview of key topics, debates from the SEFI Conference (10 minutes)
  • Discussion on topics where perspectives will be invited from our international peers – what resonates with you as a shared challenge and opportunity? Are there projects and potential solutions to these challenges? (30 minutes)
  • Wrap-up and next steps (10 minutes)
